eeeehehehe. This is a wooden boat, with a little pipe so you can blow up the balloon that you attach yourself so you don’t have to blow up the balloon then struggle to slip it on. The air from the balloon pushes it across the water

That’s the kind of moon/cloud arrangement you want in the background of an epic fight
the one I posted a pic of earlier. Boooought it. Literally the last one they had in stock at Guitar Center in Concord. Slightly cheaper than what I found online for the same model, and awkward shipping got cut out. Jam sessions with friends should get a little more interesting now. I wanna experiment with various sounds, like having an egg shaker in one hand, using other hand for cajon, hi-hat on left foot, etc. Too bad that foot pedal cabasa in the video I shared runs for like $160 fffffuuuuu
Cajons are pretty simple. With a little knowledge in woodwork and acoustics, I’m sure anyone with ample time could build a decent one on their one. I lack the knowledge and the time. lol. It’s pretty much a wooden crate with a few wires, a sound hole, some screws. African slaves who arrived in South America used wooden boxes as impromptu drums. Also, the poor who couldn’t afford drums did the same. Ever since then, it’s been popular in Cuban music, flamenco, etc but it’s pretty versatile. Simple, humble, pretty awesome.
How much did you get it for? I wanted to go to guitar center yesterday…
Dude, I’m pretty sure you’d be able to make one. But then I thought about it… the kind of woods that would make it sound nicer are probably pricey.
Mine was the Meinl Headliner w/ oak frontplate, $89 pre-tax, $98 overall. It wasn’t a Black Friday deal so I’m sure you can still find the same one or a comparable one for $98 to $109. You basically can’t go wrong with a Meinl. They’re like, one of the best when it comes to cajons. If you really want one, do what I did and call ahead to make sure they’re in stock, they held mine since I said I was coming to buy it that same day. If not Concord, try El Cerrito or SF
I’ve seriously been considering an Ibanez acoustic-electric bass. I think Uncle Dean has a bass amp we can borrow
